[by Ma Chae Rim] Drama is a genre that is loved for a long time because it can satisfy the five senses according to occasions while indirectly experiencing everything from a normal day to a special event which have never been experienced before.  The overall storyline and actors, directors, and writers are pushing the minds of viewers according to various variables and their importance is increasing.

Among them, realistic situations that anyone can sympathize with are attracting viewers' sympathy. If you add colorful and innumerable visuals here, it doubles the effect and draws in high ratings. Is it due to these characteristics? Recently, the movies and TV dramas are all attracting the viewer’s attention by showing the ‘Mukbang’, a scene that shows the character blissfully and deliciously eating food. Here are some of the ‘Mukbang’ scenes from Korean TV dramas that caught our eyes.

# Korean-style ‘Mukbang’ drama 'Let's Eat 2' Seo, Hyun-jin

The drama 'Let's Eat' received high praises with sympathetic understanding of hearts of modern people who relaxed with delicious food and talk. Thanks to Lee Soo-kyung’s real ‘Mukbang’ portrayal in season 1, Seo Hyun-jin was able to follow the footstep and show off her Mukbang skills in season 2.

The most talked about scene among the many Mukbang scenes is chicken eating scene by Seo Hyun-jin and Yoon Doo-joon. Seo Hyun-jin’s realistic performance of eating seasoned chicken with Cheongyang red pepper garish and Yoon Doo-joon deliciously biting into a juicy fried chicken was enough to stimulate the salivary glands of the viewers. Actually, the order of chicken soared right after ‘Let’s Eat’ was on air.

When you say chicken, people usually think of a dish that is fried is oil. The method of frying with oil is disadvantageous in that it generates various harmful components to the body. If you want to enjoy healthy chicken, let's try the Goobne Chicken which is baked instead of frying. If you want to taste the spicy chicken like in the photo, we recommend the seasoned chicken series such as, Goobne Volcano series, and Goobne Gochu Basasak series. If you can’t handle spicy food, it is good to taste the original series or the sweet Galbi King series.

# It's good to eat alone! Mukbang scenes in 'Drinking Solo'

‘Drinking Solo’, ‘HonSul Nam Nyuh’ in Korean, combines the word ‘Honsul’, which is a new word for drinking alone, with the words men and women. This drama, which shows the stories of those who drink alone for various reasons, has drawn the gratification of the modern people who consoled themselves with delicious food and alcohol while satirizing the hard and intense society and got a great response to the audience of 1 person households.

Park Hae-sun, the heroine of the drama, attracted attention with her ‘mukbang’ scene of deliciously drinking beer with distinctive cute face and natural acting. In addition to this, the realistic scene of the characters eating delicious pork belly placed on top of a lettuce and pouring sweet and sour sauce on freshly delivered fried pork to enjoy it with alcohol stimulated the taste and sight simultaneously. The high rating proved the popularity as the new ‘Mukbang’ drama to follow ‘Let’s Eat’, which was considered the best ‘Mukbang’ drama at the time.
