According to YG Entertainment on the 23rd, BLACKPINK's music video of 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' surpassed more than 1.5 billion views on YouTube at 6:36 p.m. on the same day. It is the record accumulated in 2 years and 8 months since its release on June 15, 2018.
The music video of 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' is breaking its own record of the first, highest, and most views among the K-pop group's music video. The music video, which took over 1 billion views for the first time among K-pop men & women's groups in November last year, has been as popular as any new song.
Looking at the actual recent trend of record for 100 million views,
It took 4 months from 1 billion views to 1.1 billion views, 3 months from 1.1 billion views to 1.2 billion views, 2 months from 1.2 billion views to 1.3 billion views, and about 2 months from 1.3 billion views to 1.4 billion views.
'DDU-DU DDU-DU' is the title track of BLACKPINK's first mini-album, 'SQUARE UP'. The strong addictive chorus and point choreography, which seemed to shoot a pistol with both hands, drawn popular, ranked as No. 1 in the 'Most-watched K-pop Music Video in the World' that year.
